Getting the keys to your new home is exciting — and a little nerve-wracking. A smooth handover comes from preparation. Use this checklist to arrive confident, protect your interests, and start settling in without surprises.

1. Bring the right documents and payments

  • ID: Government-issued photo ID for all named parties.
  • Proof of funds: Bank transfer confirmation, cashier’s check, or receipt showing closing funds.
